Buying Now or Making an Offer
When you're ready to purchase on ArtRewards, you have two options: buy immediately at the listed price or, on eligible works, submit an offer. Both paths are straightforward. Here's how each one works.
Option 1: Buy Now
The Buy Now option is available on all listings. It lets you purchase an artwork immediately at the price shown.
How it works:
- Open the artwork listing page.
- Select Buy Now.
- Enter your shipping address and payment details.
- Review your order and confirm.
- Your payment is processed securely through Stripe, and your order is confirmed right away.
You'll receive an order confirmation email as soon as the purchase is complete.
Option 2: Make an Offer
On eligible listings, you'll see a Make an Offer option alongside the listed price. This lets you propose a price below the asking amount for the artist to consider.
How it works:
- Select Make an Offer on the listing page.
- Enter the amount you'd like to propose.
- Submit your offer.
The artist will receive your offer and can accept, decline, or counter within the response window shown at the time of submission.
Is My Payment Taken When I Submit an Offer?
No. Submitting an offer does not incur a charge. Your payment details may be collected to facilitate a smooth checkout if your offer is accepted, but you will not be billed until your offer is confirmed.
What Happens After I Submit an Offer?
Once you submit an offer, here's what to expect:
- If accepted — You'll be notified and your purchase will be processed at the agreed price.
- If declined — You'll be notified and remain free to purchase at the listed price or explore other works.
- If countered — You'll receive a counteroffer to review and either accept or decline.
If the artist does not respond within the offer window, the offer will automatically expire at no charge to you.
Does Submitting an Offer Reserve the Artwork?
No. Submitting an offer does not hold or reserve the artwork. Another buyer could purchase the piece at the listed price while your offer is under consideration. If a work matters to you and the listed price is within reach, buying immediately is the most secure option.
